Steam Gardens is a, clothing-optional, mixed-gender bathhouse. So our safety and etiquette guidelines are essential for a relaxing and respectful experience.

WHAT TO BRING:

• Bathrobe
• Spa Slippers & Tote
• Sauna Hat

 (Body Wash & Lotion provided on-site.)

Wear what makes you feel comfortable. Don’t want to be naked, but don’t like the wet swimsuit feel? Or you forgot your bathing suit? We have wool sauna rompers and lounge shorts available for purchase as well. 

We encourage guests to bring two towels per person per visit (one for the sauna, one for the shower). Not having a dedicated towel service helps keep our admission and laundry costs down. 

A Note About Our Neighborhood

Steam Gardens lives quietly on a residential street, two blocks off a major arterial.

Please help us keep the neighborhood happy and our parking free by parking mindfully — ideally one block away.  As always keep voices to a whisper in the Garden area.

Clothing Optional Bathing = Non-Sexual Space.

Steam Gardens is a clothing-optional liminal space. It is a social bathing space where everyone’s experience depends on collective care. By entering the space, you agree to uphold the culture and boundaries that make this place safe, calm, and restorative.

• You may be nude, robed, towel-wrapped, or in a swimsuit.
• Keep gestures, posture, and conversations respectful at all times. Any overtly lewd PDA activity or sexual signalling and you will be asked to leave.
• Please avoid staring or behavior that sexualizes yourself or others
• Please report any uncomfy encounters to our staff and we will try our best to address the situation.

🚿Shower Between Heat & Cold

For cleanliness and comfort:

• Rinse between sauna, plunge, and hot tub
• Always rinse before entering the hot tub
• Dry off before entering indoor spaces

A Phone-Free Sanctuary

Steam Gardens is a screen-free space on the main floor and in the garden.

If you need to swap numbers with a new friend or write a thing use the “notes+pens” station.
